Food Affair

As a cosmopolitan city, Nigeria is littered with a myriad of restaurants, cafes, outdoor, food vendors and bistros. There is a large eating and food loving culture, which remains uncelebrated and untapped. We have decided to organize a food festival to celebrate the food culture of Nigeria. Infusing elements of the old and new, traditional and contemporary, local and international cuisines. The food festival will showcase Nigeria’s finest food.

We will be combing through the streets of Nigeria to present to you the best Food and drink vendors, chefs, caterers and restaurants. We aim to showcase a wide variety of dishes that represents Nigerian and international cuisines.

You will have the unique opportunity to dine from best restaurants, try and buy delicious food and drink producers and watch some of Nigeria’s finest chefs demonstrate their skills.

Description

The fair will showcase the finest cuisines and Nigeria’s most famous dishes in a tented environment to accommodate food display and preparation. The fair will be divided into sections:

• Small Chops
  • A firm favourite in parties and social gatherings deserves its own section. This will feature food like spring rolls, samosa, peppered snail etc
• Tastes from the East
  • Display a variety of dishes that are popular in the east such as Oha, native etc
• Tastes from the North
  • Display a variety of dishes that are popular in the east such as tuwo, kunu etc
• Tastes from the South
  • Display a variety of dishes that are popular in the east such as efo, ogbono etc
• Street food: The Perfect Barbecue
  • Feature products prepared on the street such as roasted plantain, suya, roasted yam etc
• International Showcase
  • Feature restaurants that offer popular international dishes/cuisines such as Chinese, Lebanese, Indian, Thai, Japanese etc
• How to make?
  • Feature chef(s) that teach the food festival attendants how to make complex Nigerian dishes
• The Farmers Market
  • Fresh Food and Produce Section straight from Nigerian farms
• Beverages
  • Native Drinks
    • Feature popular drinks such as Zobo, Palm Wine, and Chapman
  • Wine and Champagne
    • Wineries will have stalls on how to taste wines and match them to particular meals.
  • Drink Companies
    • Will have the opportunity to showcase their drinks
